Mount Gretna Borough designates on-street handicapped parking spaces on Borough-maintained public streets by ordinance. Designated spaces are available to any vehicle displaying a valid Pennsylvania disability plate or placard. A designated space is not reserved for a specific vehicle or household.
Currently Designated Spaces
Handicapped parking spaces currently designated by Borough ordinance are listed in Borough Code §181-18.1.
Violations and Penalties
Parking in a designated handicapped space without a valid Pennsylvania disability plate or placard is a violation of Borough Code §181-19. Fines range from $50 to $100 for a first offense. Repeat violations within a thirty-day period carry increased fines. Each day a violation continues constitutes a separate offense.
Requesting a Handicapped Parking Space
Borough Council adopted a formal application and review process in April 2026. See Handicapped Parking — Process & Application for information on how to apply.
